Meet Dr. Ashley Christensen
My profession is more than just work: it is a passion! I have always been attracted to the artistic aspect of dentistry, especially dental implants and restorations. My personal mission is to take that passion and use it to change people’s lives!
Our smiles are the first feature people notice, whether they are meeting us for the first time or seeing us for the millionth time. Smiles are how we express many emotions and convey what we are feeling to those around us. They also influence our self-image and, when healthy and beautiful, grow our self-esteem and ease around others.
Working with people from all walks of life and varied ages, establishing good oral health and smiles, will never get old. It is an honor to use my gift to play a role, however small, in helping people develop confidence in themselves and how they present themselves to the world!
Background and Education
I was born in San Bernardino, California and raised in Topeka, Kansas. Growing up I knew I wanted to be part of the healthcare profession. Dentistry was appealing especially because of the artistic aspect of shaping and creating smiles. I also enjoy working with my hands, which I do every day, and treasure – above all – the relationships with the people I’ve met over the years.
I attended the University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology. Dental school was undertaken at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine, where I received my Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
I have been with Christensen Dental since 2015.
Christensen Dental
One of my goals as a dental professional is to help people overcome their anxiety and develop a positive relationship with me, our team, the dental environment, and procedures. Achieving that goal is made easier because we are a judgement-free office! Truly!
My assistants and I are passionate about answering each person’s questions, encouraging people to talk about their worries, and finding ways to alleviate their concerns. We want everyone to understand their diagnosis, treatment options, what a procedure will involve, and the expected results. Removing the “unknown” from the fear equation goes a long to way to easing fears.
I find the greatest satisfaction in building trust and seeing how that helps people take control of their dental health. Whether I can help a person overcome their fear of the dentist, establish or restore the ability to eat what they like, boost their self-image, or all of the above, I work hard to build their confidence in me and in themselves.
Continuing Education and Professional Affiliations
Over the years, I have participated in continuing education opportunities with Dr. Tyler Christensen, our team, and other esteemed colleagues. This allows me to stay up-to-date on ever-changing technology, techniques, and materials. By carefully evaluating new developments, we are able to identify the best – those that improve diagnostics, comfort, accuracy, and outcome – and incorporate them into the practice.
I have a strong interest in restorations, especially dental implants, which restore function and aesthetics. I will never get tired of seeing the transformation in a patient’s smile and, even better, their eyes when they see their new smile for the first time!
Beyond the Practice
I’ve lived in Nevada since 2007, and am now happily settled in Henderson. Dr. Tyler Christensen and I have been married for just over a year. We have three energetic beagle puppies to care for, currently, and they keep us busy. I enjoy walking them through the desert trails near our home.
My other interests are many: I recently started cooking more and love finding and testing new healthy recipes. I also like growing vegetables in our small backyard garden and sitting out by the firepit on cool evenings. Traveling is another passion of mine and I’m always adding new destinations to my travel bucket list! I like exploring antique stores – nearby and when we travel – and cross stitch to relax.
