Meet Dr. Tyler Christensen
Changing people’s smiles for the better always makes me so happy! Working with patients young and old gives me the opportunity to meet incredible people from unique backgrounds, with interesting lives. I get to hear their story and really connect with them.
Background and Education
Born in Chicago, Illinois, I was raised in Driggs, Idaho and Brigham City, Utah. My interest in and passion for dentistry grew as I watched my father excel in his dental career through the years.
After graduating high school, I lived abroad, in Madrid, Spain for two years. Returning home, I attended the University of Utah, where I earned my Bachelor degree in Medical Biology in 1997. This was followed with a move to Iowa, where I obtained my Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Following dental school, I began my dental career practicing with my father in Brigham City. Those five years of working alongside my father were the best dental education I could achieve!
In 2005, my family and I moved to Henderson and I opened my own practice, which I relocated to its current location in 2013.
Christensen Dental
I have now practiced dentistry for nearly 25 years, with most of those serving the community her in Henderson.
I love serving this community and getting to know people through the years. I know we’re doing something right, as families grow and bring their children, grandchildren, and friends to see us. Having been a member of the Henderson community for nearly two decades, I am privileged to have built a valuable trust and sense of family between myself, my team, and those we serve.
Christensen Dental is committed to fostering the feeling of a supportive and understanding dental team My team and I work tirelessly to make each person feel comfortable at their visit, to listen and learn, and to alleviate any fears they may have. We want patients to feel confident about the care they receive and leave the office happy and healthier.
Continuing Education, Professional Affiliations, and Activities
Throughout my career, I have continually sought out opportunities for professional development. In addition to regular continuing education, I have studied at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, with a focus on cosmetic dentistry.
As a member of the American, Nevada, and Southern Nevada dental associations, I have access to numerous courses, trainings, meetings, and journals. Taking advantage of these offerings, I have stayed at the forefront of advancements in dentistry. I have a specific interest in technological innovations that can improve all aspects of the treatment process.
I currently serve as a dental consultant to the Ryan White Foundation through the University Medical Center. Additionally, I am a member of the Air Force Reserves.
Beyond the Practice
Like many of those I see in the office, my personal life is very family-centered. I have a wonderful wife, two grown sons, and three busy puppies that keep us on our toes! Weekends and time away from the office find me hiking, biking, walking the energy out of the puppies, traveling, and trying new recipes with my wife.
I also enjoy golfing and participating in a fantasy football league with long-time friends, and watching the Cubs play baseball.
